Pedestrian hit by car, falls on roof, carried for 30 km, dies

Nalgonda: In a freak mishap, a 65-year-old, who was hit by a speeding car, fell on the roof of the car and was carried away for a good 30 km. He died after he fell on the car with a thud.

According to the police, 65-year-old Venkata Reddy lost his life in a freak accident on the Chautuppal-Narketpally road in Nalgonda district. Venkata Reddy, who was hit by a speeding car (AP 09 BY 2725), while trying to cross the road, fell on the same car after being hit.

The driver of the car, who tried to flee the scene after hitting the 65-year-old man, did not realise that the man had fallen on top of his car.

The damaged car was stopped by the locals after they noticed a man on the roof. The 65-year-old was already dead by the time locals stopped the car.

On being questioned by the locals the two men admitted to their crime. Police was alerted by the locals. Two persons, in the car were arrested and further investigations are going on.
