Massive Fever Survey to Identify People with COVID Symptoms in AP

 - Sakshi Post

Mangalagiri: Starting Saturday, the state government will conduct a major household survey across the state to track down people suffering from fever, according to Anil Kumar Singhal, principal secretary of the health department.

The principal secretary told reporters at the APICC office here on Friday (May 14th) that medical staff will provide appropriate medication to those suffering from fever during the survey.

He said that in addition to the oxygen allotted by the Centre to the state, 230 metric tonnes of oxygen will arrive in a few days. He said it was a positive omen that the number of discharged patients is rising in the state as a result of the government's actions. He said that the state's death rate is extremely low in comparison. "Only 96 deaths occurred in the state during the last 24 hours, though 22,018 positive cases were registered," he said, despite the fact that 22,018 positive cases had been reported.

According to the principal secretary, the time between hospital admission and discharge has been gradually decreasing. He expressed satisfaction with the state's ongoing vaccination programme. "There is no heavy rush at the vaccination due to the precautions taken," he explained.

Rather than waiting for the Centre to supply vaccines, the state government is buying and distributing vaccines until the second dose cycle expires.
