Ludhiana Blast Mastermind Held in Germany

Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) leader Jaswinder Singh Multan has been detained in Germany for reportedly being the principal conspirator in the December 23 blast in the Ludhiana district court complex. The blast killed 1 person and injured five people, according to the reports.

Based on the information shared by India to the counter-terror agencies in Berlin, they were able to make the arrest. All the evidence from the blast spot and any other detail were shared with the agencies, including the information on the conspiracy.

Multan was plotting to import more explosives into India across the international border, as well as set out similar explosions in other regions of the country. Multan is also suspected of pushing weapons in the Khemkaran area of Punjab's Tarn Taran district, earlier this year.

What is it about?

At 12:22 p.m. on December 23, an explosion occurred in a restroom on the second floor of the District and Sessions court building in Ludhiana. According to the counter-terrorism organizations investigating the event, former Punjab Police Head Constable Gagandeep Singh set the bomb in the court complex and died when it detonated, killing him then and there.
