AP Mega Parents Teachers Meeting (PTM) Tomorrow, July 10

 - Sakshi Post

The Andhra Pradesh government is organizing a massive Parent Teacher Meet (PTM) across the state on July 10, bringing together parents, teachers, and students in a collective effort to enhance education. Building on the success of the first Mega PTM held on December 7, 2024, this initiative aims to foster a culture of collaboration and mutual accountability in children's learning journeys.

A Massive Participation

The event is expected to witness an unprecedented participation of 22,821,454 individuals, including 7,496,228 students, 332,770 teachers, and 14,992,456 parents, donors, and stakeholders, across 61,135 institutions. This grand initiative underscores the government's commitment to promoting community-driven schooling and ensuring equitable, quality education for every child.

Objectives and Significance
The Mega PTM 2.0 is designed to:

  • Strengthen trust: Foster a strong bond between parents, teachers, and school communities.
  • Improve academic progress: Provide parents with insights into their children's academic performance, behavior, and social development.
  • Enhance cooperation: Encourage parents and teachers to work together to support learning at home.

A Step Towards Inclusive Educational Governance

The state's decision to hold Mega PTMs across all schools on the same day is a significant step towards promoting inclusive educational governance. By bringing together parents, teachers, and students, this initiative aims to create a platform for collective accountability and community participation in education.

Alignment with National Policies

The Mega PTM 2.0 aligns with the principles of The Right to Education Act, 2009 (RTE) and the National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP), which emphasize the importance of community participation in education. By promoting parent-teacher meetings as a powerful tool for engaging families in school development, the government aims to ensure that every child receives quality education
