KCR Hands Over Residential Plot To Badminton Star PV Sindhu

Chief minister KCR hands over the land documents to PV Sindhu - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday handed over the plot documents to badminton star and 2016 Rio Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu at Pragathi Bhavan.

The Telangana government has allotted a 1000-square-yard residential plot to Sindhu after she won the first medal in the 2016 Olympics last year. KCR also announced a cash reward of Rs5 crore besides a residential plot to her in Hyderabad. The Andhra Pradesh government had presented her Rs3 crore in cash and had offered a 1,000 square yard plot in Amaravati, the upcoming state capital near Vijayawada.

Both the Telugu states had offered her jobs but in February, Sindhu's mother had said she is willing to accept the job offer of the Andhra Pradesh government. Sindhu is expected to be appointed a deputy collector in Andhra Pradesh.

As Sindhu was born in Hyderabad and her parents hail from Andhra Pradesh, both the states had claimed her as their own and vied with each other in showering rewards on her.
