Jawan shoots self in Mehdipatnam

An Army jawan committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at the high-security military area in Mehdipatnam on Sunday night.

According to reports, Appal Raju, who belonged to Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, shot himself with his duty weapon and died immediately.
The reason of his suicide is not yet known.
However, many suspect that he was dejected after being grilled by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the killing of an eleven-year-old boy Syed Mustaffa, who was burnt alive in an army garrison in Hyderabad on October 9.
The Humayunnagar police registered a case and began investigations into the death of Appal Raju. The body was sent for post-mortem.
