Inspector raided: Owns assets worth Rs. 20 crore - Sakshi Post

Visakhapatnam: A Police Inspector Sheikh Hussain has been found in possession of assets worth Rs 20 crore which are disproportionate to known sources of his income, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said.

ACB officials booked Sheikh Hussain in a case of possessing disproportionate assets after conducting multi-city raids on premises linked to him. Hussain is currently posted as Circle Inspector of Coastal Security Police (CSP) at Pudimadaka.

The anti-graft agency officials seized documents showing that Inspector owned properties worth Rs 20 crore. ACB sleuths found the documents after conducting simultaneous raids at 16 places in Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and a few other cities.

DSP of ACB (Visakhapatnam Urban) K Ramakrishna Prasad said that Hussain has a palatial bungalow at Timmapuram on the city's outskirts and house sites in Visakhapatnam. Hussain also manages a construction company which has been registered in the name of his children and associates.

"He joined the force around 12 years ago and served in various capacities under the Police Commissionerate. Before being posted at CSP, Pudimadaka, Hussain served as Inspector at Police Control Room in the city. The raids will continue tomorrow (Thursday) as well at a few other places in the state, the officials added.
