GHMC’s New Initiative: Lodge Complaints On Twitter Now

The EVDM officials also requested the citizens to post clear images of the offence with the detailed address of the location - Sakshi Post

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has come up with one more initiative for the citizens of Hyderabad. GHMC Enforcement, Vigilance & Disaster Management (EVDM) on Thursday launched a social media handle for Central Enforcement Cell (CEC) monitor complaints which will be received via Twitter.  The handle is @CEC_EVDM.

According to reports, the EVDM officials also requested the citizens to post clear images of the offence with the detailed address of the location. CEC social media teams will attend to the complaint and generate e-challans.

According to EVDM officials, the CEC teams will be working from 10 am to 6 pm, with complaints posted after 6 pm to be attended on the next working day.

EVDM director Viswajit Kampati said to a daily that the main aim behind taking this action is not to penalise offenders but to generate awareness among the people littering the city and to them know that there is an enforcement team monitoring them.

According to the official statement issued by GHMC, since the launch of the CEC in October last, more than 44,000 violations have been reported and over Rs 14 crore penalty has been imposed.
