GHMC official arrested for possessing Rs 6 crore assets

Hyderabad: ACB officials have arrested GHMC section officer D Janardhan Mahesh (52) on Wednesday for owning disproportionate assets worth Rs 6 crore.

The ACB officials raided Janardhan's house in Malkajgiri and his relatives house in the city simultaneously.
ACB DSP M Prabhakar said that the section officer's list of assets includes a G+2 house, eight flats in a four-storied apartment, four plots and a two bedroom flat at Errum Manzil, bank balance worth Rs 28 lakh, chit fund investments worth Rs 9 lakh and fixed deposits worth Rs 8 lakh in the name of his wife and daughter.
A Hyundai i10 car and 1.3 kg gold jewellery and 22.3 kg silver articles were also seized from his house.
Prabhakar further said that although the documentary value of the property is Rs 3 crore the market value of all the assets is over Rs 6 crore.
Janaardhan, who works as a section officer at town planning section, GHMC circle-18 in Secunderabad, will be produced before the court on Thursday.
