EAMCET counselling may be delayed

EAMCET counselling may be delayed - Sakshi Post

Counselling for EAMCET may be delayed for the 2013-14 academic year as Admission & Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC) is yet to finalise the fee structure in engineering, B Pharmacy, MBA, MCA and others courses.

Earlier, the AFRC has announced to decide the fee structure on June 12. But, the process of taking opinions from college managements on fee is yet to be completed.

The AFRC has asked the colleges to submit their proposals in writing to existing fee structure and also new fee structure they wanted to implement in the current academic year. As the college managements refused for online fee particulars, the AFRC asked them to give proposals in written. The AFRC will come to a conclusion on the fee structure only after taking the opinion of the colleges, which is expected to be completed by Thursday.

Meanwhile, the EAMCET committee which met on Tuesday discussed about the fee structure and date of counselling. "Clarity on the fee structure is arrived by the end of this week and the counselling dates may be fixed between June 20-25," said a Higher Education official. Notification of admissions may be issued six days before the counselling date.

The Consortium of Engineering and Professional Colleges' Managements Association (CEPCMA) wanted a hike in fee for admission into engineering colleges for next three academic years following an increase in the expenditure. The Government appointed AFRC to decide the fee structure for the engineering colleges and based on that it sought proposals from the colleges. The AFRC has to decide the fee structure based on the available infrastructure facilities.
