Justice Ramana on Saturday said it was a matter of concern that the court proceedings not being carried out in mother tongue Telugu.

He said Telugu had been used for giving court judgments during British regime. Addressing a meeting in Vijayawada on "judicial administration in Telugu", Justice Ramana said it was the time to respect our mother tongue Telugu. Stating that paying salutations to the mother and respecting the mother tongue, Justice Ramana said the language was shrinking as the development of the language was not taken up according to the population ratio. He sought cooperation of the people and the rulers to spread the importance of the mother tongue.
