Abhay Killers Arrested in Vijayawada, 2 More Absconding - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Three persons who killed 15-year-old Abhay after kidnapping him from Shah Inayat Gunj area in Hyderabad on Wednesday were arrested by the Telangana police in Vijayawada on Thursday. The body of the victim was found in a cardboard box near Alpha hotel on Thursday morning.

One of the three special teams that swung into action immediately, traced the culprits to Vijayawada and nabbed three of them. Two more suspected to be involved in the offence were absconding.

Latest reports indicate that business rivalry might be the reason for this ghastly incident and that Abhay may have been killed even before the ransom call was made to his father.

On Wednesday, Abhay was kidnapped while on his way to a tiffin center at 3 p.m. from Shah Inayat Gunj in Begum Bazar area. After waiting and searching for the boy, the parents approached the local police station, where a missing person's case was registered.

Ransom call was recorded

On Wednesday night, the kidnappers called up his father Rajkumar and demanded a ransom of Rs.10 crore, which was subsequently reduced to Rs. 5 crore. The audio tape of the conversation, which is available with the media shows the father bewildered at the demand for such an exorbitant sum. The tape also reveals him pleading with the kidnapper and telling them that he would only be able to manage Rs. 5-7 lakh and whatever jewelry that is available at home.

It was earlier thought that the kidnappers who were apparently unhappy about the counter offer, murdered the boy. However, it is being suspected that Abhay was probably murdered even before the ransom call was made on Wednesday night. The motive seems to be business rivalry and not a kidnap for ransom.

The look out for the other two accused is on. The police will be able to reveal more details once these culprits are brought to the city
