Taiwanese Bikini Climber Freezes To Death On Mountain
The world-famous "Bikini Climber" of died of suspected hypothermia after a fall in Taiwan's Yushan National Park. Hypothermia is a condition in which a human body dissipates more heat than it absorbs, in this case due to exposure to extreme cold.
Gigi Wu, the Bikini Climber became a sensation on social media for her selfies on mountain tops dressed in a bikini. She told a local FTV channel that she had scaled more than 100 peaks in 4 years. Wu got to the top in regular hiking clothes and changed into a bikini once she reached the peak.
Meanwhile, Taiwanese rescue teams swung into action to retrieve her body, but were hampered in their efforts by adverse weather conditions. Eventually, after hiking for 28 hours, they found her body.
Wu used a satellite phone on Saturday to inform her friends about her accidental fall in Yushan National Park.
