Will submit report by August 31 : Capital search committee

  “We will decide the capital of residuary Andhra Pradesh only after a detailed study. The allegations that we have already decided the capital are wrong,” said Rathin Roy, a member of the Sivaramakrishnan committee appointed for searching the capital.

Members of the committee visited Rajahmundry on Sunday as part of their search for the new capital. They met the district officials at Rajahmundry later.

Speaking to the reporters, Rathin Roy said that they would submit their report to the union home ministry by August 31.

He said, “We have observed the availability of land, water facility and others at Rajahmundry. Sivaramakrishnan could not come here only due to ill health.”

“We will visit all the cities which are in our agenda and submit the final report accordingly,” said Rathin Roy.

The committee will reach Vijayawada by Sunday evening.
