We will come out clean: Dharmana, Sabita - Sakshi Post

“CBI made only allegations and we should not be treated as tainted ministers. We will come out clean soon," said Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sabita Indra Reddy on Monday after handing over their resignations to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his camp office.

Dharmana said he tendered his resignation only to save the party from getting defamed. The political parties did not understand the case properly. The CBI allegation was that he had hidden Vanpic land allocation before the cabinet violating laws. It charged that the lands were allocated to Vanpic project instead of Vanpic port. But it did not mention about quid pro quo.

They were just allegations and the CBI had just quoted some technical matters. It was a decision taken by the cabinet not any individual. The decision was not either him or the Chief Minister (YSR) to allot land. He said it would be proved in the court of law. He exuded confidence that he would come out clean in the case. Replying to a question, Dharmana said he had resigned to his post in August itself. Now the decision was left for the party, Dharmana said.

Sabita Indra Reddy said she tendered her resignation when CBI had made allegations against her. She said she had acted as per the rules and the ministers had issued GOs under the prescribed rules. She said her integrity would save her and expressed hope that she would come out as an innocent. She said she had never discharged her duties for personal gains. She had extended support for CBI investigation, though she was in power, she added.
