Vizag cops warn vehicle owners on tinted films - Sakshi Post

Taking a cue from the traffic police in Hyderabad in implementing the Supreme Court order banning the use of tinted films that restrict vision of drivers under the Motor vehicle Act, the Visakhapatnam police have taken up a drive to implement the order.

The Hyderabad police came in for praise from all quarters when implementing the SC order as they did not even let VIPs or film stars beat the rule.

Visakhapatnam Traffic Additional DCP V. Suresh Babau said that tinted glass on the windshields and windows of the vehicles should be removed as the Supreme Court prohibits its use across the country. "The vehicle owners in the city  are given time till December 2 to get rid of sun films on their car. After that date, if vehicle owners are found violating the law, they will be fined Rs. 300 and repeated violations will land them in jail for contempt of court," he added.

The traffic police is all set to implement the order ‘in toto’ from December 3, a top official said.

The police have no choice in implementing the order as the Supreme Court added the rider making police officials responsible for the implementation of the order, the official added.
