Vijayawada’s metro rail hopes dashed

Vijayawada: The Central Government has dealt yet another blow to Andhra Pradesh. In what came as a rude shock to Chandrababu Naidu and his colleagues, the Centre ruled out any assistance in the Construction of Vijayawada Metro Rail.

The Central government has made it clear that metro rail in Vijayawada is not viable with the population being less than 20 lakhs.
“Since the population is less, the metro project would run into heavy losses,” the Central government apparently informed the state government.With this, the chances of metro rail in Vijayawada materializing seem bleak.
