Unani doctor arrested in patient’s murder

Hyderabad: A Unani doctor, who is running a clinic at Misri Gunj area in old city, Hyderabad , was on Sunday arrested when he tried to burn the body of one his patients who died from a severe reaction of the medication administered on him.

The incident took place near Shamshabad airport. The Unani doctor identified as Salman alias Sajid has been arrested on charges of murder.

The victim has been identified as Khaja Nayeemuddin, a 45-year-old Misri Gunj resident. The victim was suffering from back pain and had gone to Sajid for treatment on Saturday. Sajid gave an injection.

Following which Khaja died due to severe reaction of the medication.

A panicked Salman with the help of a friend set the body ablaze near Shamshabad airport. The residents in the area became suspicious after they saw smoke billowing in the area and alerted the police.

Police rushed to the spot and arrested Salman while his friend managed to give police the slip.

Meanwhile the body of Khaja Nayeemuddin has been sent for postmortem.
