TRS ditching Congress for BJP? - Sakshi Post

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), as per latest reports, is warming up to BJP and not, as expected, Congress. According to reports, TRS chief K.Chandrasekhara Rao is still smarting from Congress's move of including Vijayshanthi and Aravinda Reddy into their party.

KCR ,who arrived in the city from Delhi on Wednesday, met key leaders at his farm house in Medak to discuss key issues like merging of TRS with Congress, repercussions of fighting the upcoming elections alone, among other things.

“Other than asking us to merge, the Congress has done nothing. On the other hand, our political enemies like Vijayshanthi  and Aravinda Reddy were inducted into Congress party. This incident is just undermining our party. We have to teach Congress a lesson, and we can do that by being an ally of BJP.  If all goes well, I can also be a convenor of NDA”, KCR reportedly said to the seniors of TRS.

However, the Muslim community can influence the outcome of at least 30 assembly constituencies  in the next elections and TRS is worried if their merger will impact that. KCR is reportedly asked the party leaders to study such aspects at grass root level.

KCR will come to a final decision only after he gets detailed inputs from the party leaders.

TRS leaders like K.Kesava Rao, Manda Jagannatham, G.Vivek, K.Taraka Rama Rao, T.Harish Rao, Etela Rajendar, B.Vinod Kumar, S.Madhusudhana Chary, Kadiam Srihari, Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy have attended the key meet of the party.

When KCR reached the farm house, the labour fired crackers and expressed gratitude towards their leader for bringing the new state of Telangana.

TDP MLAs like G.Nagesh, P.Mahendar Reddy, K.S.Ratnam and P.Narendar Reddy are going to join the TRS of Friday at 3 pm.  Sources in the party added that five more TDP MLAs are likely to join them.
