Their 22-year-old daughter was coming home after four long months, and the Parachuri family made all efforts possible to give her a grand welcome.

On Thursday, unfortunately all their happiness turned into sorrow when Swati Parachuri, an employee with TCS, died a tragic death in the twin bomb blast that occurred on Bangalore-Guwahiti express in Chennai.

Swati, a hardworking, a meticulous student who finished her entire education with the help of scholarships, landed herself in a software job with Tata Consultancy Services in December.  In January she was elated as she got her first salary. But soon she started missing her parents and made plans to visit their family, residing in Guntur.

She booked her ticket in tatkal, and was eagerly looking forward to visit her family.  On Wednesday evening before boarding the train, she called her parents and said that she will be reaching by Thursday afternoon.

Unfortunately, on Thursday morning, she became a victim of a cowardly terrorist act. She died in the twin bomb blast that took place on Bangalore-Guwahaiti express. As the train reached Chennai station. One of the bombs exploded under her seat.

Her inconsolable grandmother Rajalakshmi said that Swati was a bright student, and did her B.Tech in Electronics and Computer Sciences from Thiruvananthapuram.  She is survived by her mother Kamakshi, a polytechnical teacher, father, a farmer and a younger brother who is studying Aeronautical engineering.

Swati's parents have left for Chennai to collect her mortal remains. A pall of gloom has enveloped Srinakar Colony in Guntur where Swati's parents live.
