Top Maoists Sukhdev, Rajireddy among 16 killed in encounter - Sakshi Post

Top Maoist leaders Sukhdev and Rajireddy were suspected to be among the 16 who were killed in the encounter at Kummarithopu forest area in Kistapuram police station limits in Chattishgarh on Monday.

Khammam Superintendent of Police Ranganath said nine bodies were found at the encounter spot and it was suspected that senior Maoist leader Sukhdev and Rajireddy were among the killed in the encounter. However, he said the bodies were yet to be identified. He said some radical literature, mobile phones and weapons including 303 rifles, carbons, SLR, and other rifles were seized from the spot.  

Senior Maoist leaders Malla Rajareddy was acting as Central committee member of Maoist party. The government announced a reward of Rs 12 lakh on the head of   Rajireddy, a native of Manthani in Karimnagar district. He was accused in the cases of attacks on TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and former chief minister Nedurumilli Janardhan Reddy. 

Meanwhile, the SP left for Andhra-Chattisgarh border where encounter was taken place on a special helicopter. He was also carrying some food packets for those who were injured in the encounter. Arrangements have been made for shifting the bodies to Bhadrachalam.
