Telugu TV artistes protest against dubbing serials

The TV artistes on Thursday launched a protest programme against the indiscriminate importing of dubbing TV serials in Telugu from other languages.

They alleged that because of influx of dubbing Telugu serials, thousands of artistes, technicians and other workers were losing opportunities. Unless and until there was regulation to curb dubbing serials, the TV industry would lose its glory, they explained. Addressing the striking artistes, noted film director Dasari Narayana Rao underscored the need for using names for films in Telugu language that were produced in the State.
