Telangana or Samaikyandhra? All eyes on Congress High Command - Sakshi Post

Deputy chief minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy are working towards accomplishing one common goal—to prepare a roadmap on Telangana as sought by the party High Command. Damodar is highly focussed on his work and is operating from a secret place for the past three days. Today, he held consultations with NRIs on the Telangana issue through tele-conference.

His approach has not gone down well with many. The deputy CM has been receiving several criticizms over the way he's collecting information to complete his task. Many wonder if he is the Deputy CM for entire the state or just Telangana. They feel Damodar is least bothered about the flak he's drawing.

According to latest reports, Botsa, Gade Venkata Reddy and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy met Kiran Kumar Reddy at camp office on the issue. It is understood that their discussion centered around Telangana. It may be recalled that Botsa has completed his job after his interaction with several ministers and MPs.

Kiran Kumar Reddy has not called for any meeting on the issue so far. Sources said that the CM is likely to meet Seemandhra leaders in the evening. And this will be his first meeting for preparing the roadmap.

Several Samaikyandhra supporters and Telangana supporters are lobbying in Delhi for their respective demands to be met.  Union Minister Purandareswari met state affairs in-charge, Digvijay Singh to discuss the same. It is a known fact that Purandareswari is facing the heat over Samaikyandhra JAC. As the pressure mounted, she met the state-affairs in-charge today.

Several Samaikyandhra leaders Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy and Sai Pratap met Digvijaya and  explained the possible problems that could arise if the state were to be divided. On the other hand, Telangana leaders are making statements as if they have taken the Centre for granted that a separate state would soon be declared.

As reports emerged that High Command would announce a decision favoring Telangana, the Samaikyandhra JAC has intensified its agitation. Scores of students under the guidance of NSUI, orgainsed a rally from MR Palli to NTR cirlce in Tirupati.
Non-political JAC called for a bandh in Bheemavaram to press for the state to remain united. Shops and schools voluntarily extended their support for the bandh.

It remains to be seen what roadmap they will submit at the core committee meeting and what decision the High Command would announce.
