TDP MPs' absence at RS gives Naidu a headache - Sakshi Post

When his party MPs skipped the FDI voting session in Rajya Sabha, little did the TDP honcho expect that he would receive flak from all the parties across the political scene. Worse from his own party members too!

Looks like Chandrababu Naidu is in a difficult situation now. Naidu is in a dilemma as to what decision he should take with regard to the TDP MPs who did not vote for the FDI issue.

His party MLAs not only want the MPs to be suspended, but also want them to apologise for their unacceptable behavior.

Calling for the immediate suspension of the three MPs, MLA Payyavula Keshav said their mistake was unforgivable. He said it was not enough if the MPs gave an explanation to Naidu, but they must also apologise to the party activists and public.

Senior leader of the Telugu Desam and MLA Dayakar Reddy too came down heavily on Naidu for the FDI fiasco. Besides blaming the MPs for their irresponsible behaviour, the senior politician also said that Naidu should not have allowed it.
Asserting that he knew about the work timings of Rajyasabha, the TDP MLA said, it was not right on the part of the MPs to give lame excuses for skipping the crucial voting session.

Giving his opinion on issue, Dayakar Reddy said, "If they had courage, they should quit their MP posts." He added that with their unacceptable behaviour, the leaders are not in the countable list and had lost the sympathy of the party activists. Also, the public had lost confidence in him.

He also said that this situation arises when a person who's incapable of becoming even a  ward member, goes on to become a MP. If the party chief had consciously allowed the MPs to skip the voting session, then doomsday is approaching for the TDP, he added.

It may be mentioned here that the three MPs—YS Chowdhary, Gundu Sudha Rani and T Devender Goud abstained from Rajya Sabha session on December 7, when the voting on the FDI was in progress. This gave the UPA government an easy victory.

Now, it remains to be seen what action Naidu would take on the MPs. His decision on the issue would clearly reflect what the TDP chief has on his mind. Should he simply ignore the issue and let go of the erring MPs, then everybody knows what was Naidu's intention in doing so.
