TDP MLAs taken into custody near NTR Bhavan

Some Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs was taken into preventive custody near the NTR Trust Bhavan, the state party headquarters in Hyderabad, today. They were shifted to the Banjara Hills police station.

The legislators were arrested as they were trying to stage a protest on the way Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is to reach the Hitex, the venue of the ongoing Conference of Parties (CoP-11) summit in the city. On receiving information that these MLAs were trying to stage a protest on the Prime Minister’s way to Hitex, they were taken into custody, sources here said.
