"Son! Help us to protect our lands" - Sakshi Post

TDP leaders have been tom-tomming that the Capital area farmers have given their lands voluntarily. But, have they? Were they coerced? What is the truth?

Leader of the Opposition and the YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is currently in the AP capital area to know the situation first hand.
Hundreds of farmers, laborers, tenant farmers who are not willing to part with their lands have explained their plight to Jagan.
An elderly women Parvathy told Jagan, " I had three acres of land. I had distributed the land among my three daughters and am left with 20 cents. What should I eat if the land is given away to the Government? Should I eat grass?" she asked.
The angry woman further said that she would commit suicide in the same land if the lands were taken forcibly.
At Vundavali, Jagan gave a patient hearing to the farmers who gathered in huge numbers. " I have three daughters. My eldest daughter has been married off. I have to take care of the other two daughters. I am a widow and have to live on the two acres that I have. Don't snatch away food from me, don't starve me,"was what Malleswari, a tenant farmer, pleading. She said she has no alternative but to end lives if the lands were taken away.
"Where would we go if the Government takes away lands and ask us to vacate villages," they asked the Government. "Son, help us protect my lands," pleaded a woman.
Responding to their problems, YS Jagan said that his party would fight for them and oppose the Government's anti-farmer policies tooth and nail.
He will meet with the farmers, tenant farmers and farmhands from Mangalgiri and Tadikonda villages. He will tour Penumaka, Errabalem, Navvuluru, Bethpudi, Nidamaru, Karugallu, Innavollu, Lingayapallem, Rayapudi, Tulluru and Uddamdrayinpalem villages.
