Shootout at Gannavaram, 3 killed

Vijayawada: In a shocking incident, two unknown miscreants opened fire on three people travelling in car at Peddavutapalli near Vijayawada-Eluru highway in Krishna district. Three persons died on the spot and one is battling for life in Pinnamaneni hospital in Vijayawada.

The deceased were all accused in the July 4 murder of a hotel owner identified as Durga Rao of Chinna Kadimi. Old rivalry over property is said to be the cause of the attack. One of the deceased was identified as Gandham Maraiah, Pagidi Maraiah and Nageswara Rao, all from Chinna Kadimi of West Godavari district.

As per reports, the victims were travelling to Eluru from Vijayawada in a vehicle belonging to New SVS travels.
Vijayawada police commissioner, AB Venkateshwarulu, reached the spot immediately on receiving the information.
The miscreants reportedly crashed on the toll gate on the outskirts of Vijaywada. The care owner has been surrounded at Eluru police station and the search operations are on to nab them.
