She cabs launched in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Transport Minister Dr P. Mahender Reddy and Minister of Roads and Buildings Minister Nageswara Rao launched `She Cabs’ in Hyderabad.

She Cabs aims to provide safe transportation for women passengers. She cabs are equipped with panic buttons that can be used in case of emergencies, Navigation and tracking devices for monitoring purposes.

She Cabs currently has 10 cars equipped with women drivers. As per the scheme a subsidy of 40 per cent is given to women drivers who are interested in purchasing a car along with bank loan which will cover the remaining payment.

The scheme is being implemented by the state transport department.
