RTC nets Rs. 14.19 crore in a single day

The Road Transport Corporation (RTC) netted Rs. 14.19 crore in a single day on October 26, RTC said on Thursday.

While the average revenue on a regular day is said to be Rs 9.80 crore, the income on Monday has surpassed the official estimation. Officials say that due to two holidays of Dasara and Muharram, many employees returned to Hyderabad only on Monday increasing the rush of travelers. Shortage of buses was also reported at some depots, they said.

However, a much higher single-day revenue was recorded during the recent Godavari Pushkaralu. RTC officials did not take that income into consideration and compared income from holiday seasons of previous years to arrive at the record number.
