Rift between TTD Chairman, EO widens

Rift between TTD Chairman, EO widens - Sakshi Post

The simmering differences between the two top persons of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) came out into the open today in the presence of mediapersons.

While addressing a press meet after the TTD Trust Board meeting today, both Chairman Kanumuri Bapiraju and Executive Officer (EO) Subrahmanyam almost came to a verbal duel, right in front of the mediapersons.

The rift came to the fore when the issue of increasing the charges for Arjitha Sevas came up. While the Chairman strongly opposed the move to increase the charges, the EO defended the decision saying it was a policy decision. When media persons asked whose decision is finally going to prevail, the Chairman clarified that they would again discuss the matter in detail and whichever is correct would be implemented.

The Executive Officer and the TTD Chairman are not seeing eye to eye for the past few days. Though sources quoted that the EO took strong objection to the Chairman wearing the spiritual “Kankanam” (wrist band) during the last month’s divine Brahmotsavam period as only the EO is authorized to wear it, both the top persons of the TTD were at loggerheads since long and the recent incident only added fuel to the fire.

However,  today the differences came into open with the media persons remaining as mute spectators when both of them started indulging in a heated argument.
