Cong ready to face elections alone: Renuka

Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdary on Thursday said that Congress is capable of going to the polls alone, and that support of TRS was not needed.  

"Now that it is confirmed that there will be no merger with TRS party, we are ready to fight the polls single-handedly," she said after meeting AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh in New Delhi.

She also announced that she would contest from Khammam Lok Sabha constituency.

" There is no problem even if TRS joins with us or not. People of Telangana are  aware that Sonia Gandhi gave Telangana after facing so many problems. That is why people will vote for Congress party in the coming election," she said adding that a strong leader would be appointed as Telangana PCC chief to give stiff competition to TRS party.
