'Registered parties' candidates too can be disqualified'

“Anti Defection Law applies to registered parties too,” said Chief Election Commissioner V.S.Sampath.
He clarified that any leader, who changes a party from which he is elected, can be disqualified.“Such a party need not be a recognized a party,” said the commissioner.
“As per the 10th Schedule in the Constitution of India, any leader from a registered party can be disqualified if he changes a party,” said the commissioner.
The comments gained significance as the YSRCP MP S.P.Y.Reddy joined TDP on Sunday morning.
