Ragging claims another student’s life

Ragging claims another student’s life - Sakshi Post

Anantapur: Even as Andhra Pradesh is on a boil over Hrishiteshwari's suicide due to ragging, a 16-year-old Plus-2 student became the latest victim to the spectre of ragging.

Madhuvardhan Reddy from Gandikotavaari Palli in Ananthapur District ended his life by hanging self on Friday.
Madhuvardhan Reddy, earned a free seat in a corporate college in Nellore by scoring well in the SSC exams. He was a hosteller in the college and complained of ragging and harassment by the seniors. On one occasion, the seniors allegedly pulled a blanket over him and thrashed him.
Though the management was alerted, it did not do much to alleviate his fears. The boy, who came on Home Sick Vacations, refused to go to the school.
On Thursday, someone from the college management called up Madhuvardhan and had a long chat asking him to rejoin. After the conversation, he became sullen and in the morning he was found hanging from the ceiling.
The aggrieved parents alleged that it was due to the harassment and ragging in the college hostel and wanted action be taken against the seniors and the staff of the college.
