'Pulichintala project will be ready by June 2013'

Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Department officials on Thursday informed the visiting members of state Public Accounts Committee that Pulichintala irrigation project(`Dr K L Rao Sagar') across Krishna river will be completed by June 2013.

Seventy-eight per cent of the civil work was complete and remaining will be completed by March 2013. The work of hydro- power plant will be over by June 2013, they said.

 The water from the reservoir would meet the needs of farmers in Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari districts, over 13 lakh hectares.

 The foundation stone of the project was laid in 2004.
