  The venue to announce the formation of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's new political party has been changed from a government college grounds citing Model Code of Conduct, sources said here today.

The development comes after the East Godavari district Collector denied permission for the March 12 meeting, since the election Model Code of Conduct is in force, they said.

Amalapuram MP G V Harsha Kumar told PTI, District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad did not give permission to hold the public meeting of Reddy's new political party at the Government Arts College grounds here.

So, we changed the venue to a private place near the LIC office building at Morampudi in the city, since the election code is in force. We expect huge crowds from various parts of the state.

Reddy will announce the party's flag, symbol, manifesto and other matters, while launching the party at a public meeting, Kumar, who is supervising the work at the proposed grounds for March 12 meeting's, said.

Rajahmundry (Urban) Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar Murthy said the District Collector issued orders not to permit the public meeting on the government grounds, since the Model Code of Conduct is in force.

Reddy had announced on May 7 that he wouldfloat a new political party touphold the prestige and dignity of the Telugu people. He would announce the name of the new political party, its agenda, policies and other details at a public meeting in Rajahmundry on March 12, he had said.

Meanwhile, Reddy's new party's name is likely to be 'Jai Samaikyandhra Party', sources said. According to sources, one Chundru Srihari Rao has registered a party called 'Samaikyandhra Party' with the AP State Election Commission, to contest local body elections.
