Private colleges closed from Monday against vigilance inspection

Hyderabad: All private educational institutions downed their shutters from Monday following the proposed inspection by vigilance officials.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of educational institutions took the call after holding a meeting with various management associations on Sunday. Since last two years the government has not released fee reimbursement to the tune of Rs. 3,600 crore, one of the JAC representative said adding, “how can the colleges maintain standards.”

Last week, the State government called for inspection of 6,300 educational institutions by 700 teams. Each team consisting of seven members was scheduled to inspect and submit a report to the government.
