Leaders, cutting across party lines and rising above their stature, paid glowing tributes to TDP veteran and former Union minister Kinjerapu Yerran Naidu who died in a road accident in the wee hours of today.

President of India Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Governors of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, ESL Narasimhan and K Rosaiah respectively and BJP president Nitin Gadkari joined scores o f leaders across the country to pay rich homage to the departed soul. Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy, YSRCP honorary president Y S Vijayamma and her daughter and party leader Sharmila expressed utter shock and grief over the tragic and untimely death of the TDP leader.
Kiran has ordered for the state honours for the funeral of the former Union minister speaks about his respect to the late leader. The deep and heartfelt condolences of Vijayamma and Sharmila within minutes of the news spread reflect the fact that Yerran Naidu is a leader with no rivals.  It was an irreparable loss for TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, who suspended his Padayatra and rushed to Srikakulam along with his wife Bhuvaneswari and son Lokesh.
News Channels in Andhra Pradesh began flashing the sudden death of Yerran Naidu since this morning and were continuously running stories from different angles projecting him as the leader of the masses and how he rose from a village leader and found place in the national political map. He was termed as a leader having friendly disposition towards one and all by all the news channels.
Media offices were flooded with condolences messages since the news broke. Big and small leaders poured out their hearts in sorrow to express their condolences to the bereaved family members and mourned Yerran Naidu.
His native village, a sleepy Nimmada of Kota Bommali mandal in Srikakulam district in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh was teeming with those who want to have the last glimpse of their leader. Since this morning supporters of Yerran Naidu and TDP activists began pouring into the village and everyone was seen crying inconsolably.
For the family members of Yerran Naidu it was a disaster that struck them at that unearthly hour in the form of a road accident on the National Highway Number 5. The 55-year-old TDP leader is survived by his mother, wife and two children -- a son and a daughter.
