Ponnala leaves after student tried to attack him with slipper

Telangana PCC president, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, on Monday almost had a George Bush moment when an angry voter after displaying his slipper tried to throw the same at him, in his  constituency.  

According to reports, Vijayabhaskar, a student, displayed his slipper to Ponnala and tried to throw it at him. This incident happened at Vivers colony in Janagama where Ponnala was campaigning.   

Just before the student could throw the slipper at Ponnala, he was caught by Congress activists who thrashed him badly.   

Irked over this, Ponnala left the place without concluding his campaigning.
