No going back on Arogyasri: Minister

No going back on Arogyasri: Minister - Sakshi Post

No going back on Arogyasri scheme despite all the hurdles, said Minister for Medical Education Kondru Murali.

He said on Friday in Srikakulam that the government would not yield to pressures from the private hospitals with regard to Arogyasri scheme. The government would find alternate methods if deliberations failed with the private hospitals, the minister said.

Meanwhile, the talks held by Arogyasri Trust CEO Srikanth with the Andhra Pradesh Nursing Association (APNA) and Andhra Pradesh Special Hospitals’ Association (ASHA) yielded no result on Friday, which lasted for two hours at YSR Bhavan of Arogyasri Trust. The CEO decided to continue the talks on Monday. The hospital managements demanded 30 per cent hike to the existing package and 10 per cent increase every year.

ASHA and APNA sought separate guidelines and MoUs with regard to Arogyasri Employees health Insurance schemes. Trust CEO Srikanth said their charter of demands would be taken to the notice of the government and further discussions would be held on April 8. ASHA president Dr Bhaskara Rao of KIMS and APNA general secretary Dr Krishna Prasad were among those who participated in the deliberations.
