Mad Hatter Holiday Festival 2025 Returns to Vallejo with Wonderland Magic and Fire-Shooting Parade

 - Sakshi Post

The much-loved Mad Hatter Holiday Festival is all set to return on Saturday, December 6, 2025, transforming Vallejo’s historic downtown district into a whimsical Wonderland filled with light, laughter, and fire-shooting art displays. The annual event, known for its creative holiday spirit and vibrant energy, draws thousands of visitors from across California.

A One-of-a-Kind Holiday Celebration

There’s no other festival quite like Vallejo’s Mad Hatter Holiday Festival. The historic downtown comes alive with larger-than-life Wonderland characters, including the Mad Hatter himself, leading the spectacular parade alongside his marvelous tea party guests.

Crowds will be treated to a visual feast featuring Burning Man’s award-winning mutant vehicles — serpents, dragons, and rhinos — all shooting fire and lighting up the night. The festival also brings back the classic restored 48 and 8 Train from the early 1900s, its horn echoing through the streets as Storm Troopers led by Darth Vader from the Golden Gate Garrison 501 Legion march alongside beloved characters like Aladdin, the Grinch, and Maritime Cadets.

Performances and Attractions for All Ages

The event’s energy continues with cultural dance groups, hip-hop artists, ballerinas, and lighted floats, ensuring entertainment for every age group. Two main announcing stages will keep the excitement flowing — one designed as a “Starway to Heaven” fifteen feet above the parade, and another hosting the Hatter’s Queen Court, where young princesses and queens will be crowned before the parade begins.

The festival grounds will feature holiday gift and food vendors, live music, and interactive moments with Hatter’s Wonderland characters. Children can hop aboard a bell-ringing holiday train circling the festival and the glowing holiday tree, while families enjoy festive photo ops — including one between two giant flaming feathers.

Tree Lighting and Evening Highlights

As the evening sets in, all eyes will turn to the Holiday Tree Lighting Program, beginning at 6:00 PM. The city’s Mayor and Grand Marshals — Freddie Stone of Sly & The Family Stone and Community Grand Marshal Amanda Williams, a heroic single mother — will lead the countdown to light up one of California’s largest holiday trees, standing 50 feet tall and sparkling with over 3,000 lights.

Adding to the festive grandeur, a Victorian ship with a 30-foot colorful blimp will serve as the main stage for performances before the tree lighting. The evening concludes with the Vallejo Yacht Club’s Lighted Boat Parade at 6:30 PM, creating a breathtaking view across the waterfront.
