Champ was one of two German Shepherds living at the White House with the Bidens, alongside Major. He had also lived in Washington when Biden was Vice-President.
Champ was a three-year-old dog when adopted by the Bidens in 2018. The arrival of Champ and Major marked the return of pets to the White House.
The Bidens told that the dog died of obesity. Champ had a special place in the White House, along with Biden's home in Delaware. Family members remembered that Joe would take the two dogs with him whenever he went for a walk every day.
