Festival Choristers Set For Its 18th Consecutive Presentation On Dec 4

 - Sakshi Post

As the year draws to a close, the Festival Choristers takes centre stage in early December. Its presentation in early December serves as a vibrant trumpet call, ushering in the festive spirit of the Christmas season.

The idea to establish a choir embracing members from diverse communities and backgrounds was conceived by three civil servants: Daphne Rebello, Rachel Chatterjee, and Aruna Bahuguna. This vision gave birth to the Festival Choristers, an inclusive collective of music enthusiasts spanning various professions and age groups.

Festival Choristers was kickstarted in 2006. This year marks the 18th consecutive performance. Even during the Covid pandemic, Festival Choristers presented three virtual showcases that were telecasted on YouTube.

The venue for this year's performance is Avasa Hotel on Hitech City Road, adjacent to the Hitech City Metro station, scheduled for the 4th of December at 7.30 pm. Admission is free, and everyone is warmly invited.

Given the prevailing global circumstances, the Christmas message conveyed through the musical and vocal expressions of the Festival Choristers holds profound meaning and relevance: "Peace on Earth and Goodwill towards all men."
