Mumbai court issues summons to Akbaruddin Owaisi - Sakshi Post

A metropolitan magistrate's court in suburban Kurla has issued a fresh summons to All India Majlis-e-Ittihad ul-Muslimeen (MIM) leader and Andhra Pradesh MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi in connection with an alleged hate speech.

Senior police station officer Kurla/Nagpada is directed to serve the summons to the accused and file compliance, said magistrate Ashish Ayachit in his order yesterday.
Earlier, complainant in the case, Ghulam Hussain Khan, told the court that Hyderabad police had failed to serve summons to Owaisi.
The MIM leader was going to be in Mumbai on Saturday according to newspaper reports, he added. After which, the court issued a fresh summons.
Khan's complaint, filed in 2013, alleges that Owaisi had allegedly made a speech intended to undermine the Hindu-Muslim harmony in 2012 in Andhra Pradesh.
It also hurt his religious sentiments and was against the teachings of Islam, Khan said, adding Maharashtra police or the home ministry had, however, refused to take action on his complaint.
