Miraculous Recovery Of Rs 36 Lakh Using CCTV Footage

Vijayawada: The city police on Monday solved a cash of missing cash within an hour using footage from CCTVs installed at a jewellery shop.

The incident took place at Sanghavi jewellery shop on Besant road on Tuesday when the shop owner handed over Rs 36 lakh to an employee to deposit in the bank. The employee, Ramakrishna, placed the bag on the petrol tank of his two-wheeler and drove away. However, while starting the bike he failed to notice that the bag had fallen off.

A couple of passersby who noticed the bag at the parking lot, picked it and walked away. Ramakrishna noticed that the bag was missing only after driving for some distance. He alerted the owner and the duo lodged a complaint with the Governorpet police. Using CCTV footage, the latter identified that the bag fell at the parking area of the jewellery shop and that the passersby picked it up. They traced the passersby and recovered the cash bag much to the relief of the jewellery shop owner and Ramakrishna.
