Ministers' wives powerplay start in Seemandhra? - Sakshi Post

Wives of ministers and MLAs from Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra) have joined their husbands in raising their voices for a united Andhra Pradesh.

The ministers and legislators are already protesting the central government's decision to carve out a separate Telangana state.

While a minister's wife has launched an indefinite strike, others on Tuesday called on state Governor E S L Narasimhan.

The wives met the governor at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad and submitted a memorandum, urging him to convey to the central government their strong reservations against division of the state.

Moksha Prasulia, wife of primary education minister S. Sailajanath, led the delegation.

Wives of finance minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, animal husbandry minister P Viswaroop, forest minister Satrucharla Vijaya Rama Raju, school education minister P Satyanarayana and others were in the delegation.

Meanwhile, stamps and registration minister Thota Narasimham's wife Thota Vani is continuing her indefinite hunger strike at Kakinada in East Godavari district. Her fast entered the fourth day on Tuesday. Several supporters have also joined her in the fast to demand the centre to keep the state united.

Thota Narasimham is one of the eight ministers from Seemandhra to have already submitted their resignations to protest state's division.
