MIM candidate wins by-election

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen(MIM) has won the by-election to the Borabanda municipal division of the GHMC.

MIM candidate Bhanumathi won over Congress candidate Rajiya Sultana by a  margin of  1484 votes. Bhanumathi earned 5,421 votes, while her opponents Sultana got 1,283 and  TDP candidate Kavitha got 2,655. However, the official announcement is yet to be made.

It may recalled that Congress candidate Vanaja who was elected for this division was disqualified as she violated the Limited Children norm.
