Medak collector Smita Sabharwal joins CMO - Sakshi Post

The 2001 batch IAS officer Smita Sabharwal, became the first ever female IAS officer working in the CMO, when she was posted as additional secretary in KCR's CMO.

Smita, who was till recently district collector, Medak - KCR's home district - took charge on Friday.

Incidentally, she is the first IAS officer posted in KCR's office. Four days after KCR's taking over, no other major IAS appointments have been made in the CMO.

KCR is planning to get Narsinga Rao as his Prinicipal Secretary. But, the IAS officer is yet to be relieved from his central deputation. Similarly, other IAS officers, whom KCR is planning to include in the CMO, are yet to be relieved from their respective postings.

As a result, KCR is struggling hard to get information inputs on administration and governance on day-to-day basis

Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma issued orders transferring Smita into the CMO. This is the first time that a lady IAS officer is posted in the CMO.

Rajiv Sharma has been asked to take over the additional responsibility of Chief Commissioner of Land Administration.
