Man dupes gullible by promising roles in TV serials

A Telugu television serial artiste duped an unemployed person to a tune of Rs 5 lakhs by promising him a role in a serial.

Ramudu Satyavara Prasad of Mehadipatnam wanted to become an actor and he met one Visnu Varshan who is acting in a couple of daily serials. 

Vishnu demanded Rs 5 lakhs to ensure a role for Ramudu in a reputed channel.
He also promised Ramudu that he would return the money in 45 days and give 40 % share in his business. Ramudu waited for six months and when he got no role, he asked the TV artiste to return his money. Visnu not just threatened Ramudu but also threatened him with dire consequences.
He told Ramudu that IPS Maganti Kantha Rao was his close relative and they will foist cases on him if he asked money.
The victim approached the police and lodged the complaint against Vishnu. Significantly, IPS officer Kantarao said he has no connection whatsoever with Ramudu.
