Kodandaram demands early formation of Telangana state - Sakshi Post

Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) has demanded hastening the process of carving the Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh.

Chairman of the JAC M. Kodandaram on Wednesday said the union cabinet should immediately pass a note for formation of Telangana state. He demanded that the bill for creating Telangana state be tabled and passed during the current parliament session.

He told reporters that people of Telangana had nothing against people of Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and Andhra) and that they were angry at Seemandhra ‘rulers’ trying to stall formation of Telangana state.

Appealing to all to cooperate in formation of Telangana state, Kodandaram said they wanted peace and harmony to prevail.

The JAC, which comprises Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other pro-Telangana parties, said peace rallies would be organised across Telangana from Aug 16 demanding the hastening of process for formation of Telangana state.

The peace rallies would be followed by relay hunger strike at Indira Park from Aug 17. The JAC also plans a massive peace rally in Hyderabad.

The United Progressive Alliance July 30 endorsed the formation of Telangana state. The Congress working Committee also resolved to carve out the separate state.

However, protests against the decision broke out in Seemandhra. The government employees in Seemandhra also launched indefinite strike on Tuesday.
