Kiran, Botsa, Naidu should submit affidavits - Sakshi Post

YSR Congress has appealed to the Chief Minister, PCC President and TDP President to submit affidavits seeking a united state to prove their sincerity towards the cause and defended the Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks on questioning the wisdom of Assembly Speaker for undertaking a tour to study the division process in other states.

“Taking up debate on the draft Bill will infer that the members are in agreement to the division and Kiran Kumar Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana and N Chandrababu Naidu who want to champion the cause of a united state should first file affidavits to show their commitment for a united state along with members of all parties,” YSRCP spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters here on Friday.
The PCC chief says that party leaders should abide by the high command decision, which is determined to split the state and he should be categorical whether he is loyal to party or to Samaikyandhra. The Chief Minister and leader of opposition as well are reeling in ambiguity, he said and appealed to members, cutting across party lines, to submit affidavits and prove their sincerity.
Defending YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks on Speaker, he said, “Nadendla Manohar has been visiting states that have followed the federal spirit while division took place in their respective regions. There was a unanimous resolution in the Assembly which was sent to the Centre which in turn has sent a draft bill that was discussed before the bifurcation took place. There was hardly any opposition for the division.
The same is not the case with Andhra Pradesh. Majority of the people are against the division, there was no assembly resolution and a draft Bill has come from Centre unilaterally. In such a situation the question of trying to elicit views and study the division process does not arise,” he said.
There is nothing wrong in questioning the wisdom of the Speaker in undertaking such tours as the situation is not parallel but diametrically opposite. The high command is misusing the high office of the Speaker and it has done earlier as well, he said.
When some MLAs from Congress and TDP defied the party whip and voted against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government and supported the no-confidence motion, the members were not suspended immediately though it was in the open.
The defiance by the MLAs was seen on the floor of the House on March 15 but the disqualification process was delayed till July 8 only to see to it that no by-election would be held as the term of the assembly would be less than one year by then.
This is gross misuse of Speaker’s office and the high command has been trying to direct it to suit its political needs. Had the disqualification been effected in March itself, there would have been another round of by-polls and YSRCP strength would have been swelled much to the dislike of TDP and Congress, he said.
A section of press and some members are trying to distort the remarks of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy which has no malice but was a factual statement, he said.
